Other than this, I don’t really have any other complaints with the work. Carnby Kim's art style, as always, went perfectly with the horror theme. I liked the previous work by Hwang-Kim duo as well, but 'Sweet Home' was honestly so much better than the 'Bastard'. Will definitely be keeping my eyes out for any future works by them.

I've been reading this for the past few months and can honestly say I am still left speechless at the very end. Incredibly compelling characters thrown into an impossible situation coupled with beautiful artwork and excellent dialogue, Sweet Home is powerful and heavy hitting. Hyun's character development was interesting to see, and the idea of the monsterization was really fun(but terrifying. Definitely terrifying). However, I would have appreciated more of an overarching story rather than short story arcs. I understand that writing a satisfying ending to a zombie apocalypse type story is really hard, but the open ending left so many world-building questions unanswered. I have to say, it was beautiful story plot n it made me cry to those people who sacrificed themself to saves others are the real hero.

As the remaining survivors zipline to their haven, Eun-hyuk's monsterization turns him into a large tangled mass that completely covers the monsterized Hyun-soo, killing them both. Over the course of the series, many characters either die to monster attacks or succumb to monsterization, becoming the threats they so dreaded. After his family died in a vehicular accident, suicidal 18-year-old boy Cha Hyun-soo moves into Room 1410 of an apartment complex called Green Home. He and the people around him start being afflicted with strange symptoms, including malevolent talking voices and nosebleeds. One night, through his video door-phone, he witnesses his girl neighbor from Room 1411 transform into a human-eating monster. I'd understand if it was something like lezhin or tapas where the originals are behind.
The webtoon is also said to go beyond simple horror storytelling and focuses on character development, especially on its protagonist Cha Hyun-soo. In the webtoon, Hyun-soo is portrayed as a reclusive boy who, at first, lives only for himself and is ready to die. But as soon as the monsterization apocalypse begins, he makes a big change by wanting to step out of his room, connecting with other people and staying alive.
Sweet Home marks the second collaborative work between webtoon writer Kim Carnby and webtoon artist Hwang Young-chan. The first work by Kim and Hwang is Bastard (2014–16), a thriller story about son who lives with his father, a serial killer. Honestly this just got me so into it that I read it all under 24 hrs, it is an amazing story, it never bored me and it has a really interesting character development. You never know what's coming and that's what keeps you into the story because anything can happen at any moment. Everyone is under the threat of becoming a monster in the shape of their deepest desires, and this adds extra layers of psychological depth to the apocalypse genre.
This narrow viewpoint makes for a gripping thriller as a lot of what's going on outside their experiences is kept in the dark and makes for a very intimate feeling horror. Hyun is a reclusive high schooler struggling with trauma and suicidal tendencies. He spends each day just barely clinging on to life, hating his family for turning a blind eye to everything he's suffered through and escaping from reality by spending all his time on the internet. Completely devoid of hope, he schedules his own suicide only to wake up the next day to find out that the entire world has ended and been taken over by monsters. After the plan to end his own life is interrupted, Hyun begins to wonder if the apocalypse is truly the end of the world or a chance to begin life anew. The women and children zipline to the hill first using all available pulleys.
Absolutely fantastic horror comic, one of my favorites. I'm just here to have a good time and sweet home delivered. It's almost always interesting when different and sometimes polarizing personalities get trapped in a building, that trope is pure candy to me. i love it. I decided to binge read this after Netflix recently announced their 'Sweet Home' web series since the trailer looked promising. Another amazing story by Kim Carnby with outstanding artwork.
